Thanks to funding from Arts Council of Wales, Awen Cultural Trust is launching a new Associate Artist programme, aimed at those currently under represented within Awen and the creative and cultural sector.

We are seeking applicants for three new freelance positions for those who identify as D/deaf, disabled or neurodiverse, are part of the global majority, are queer/trans or are a Welsh speaker.

Artists will work with Awen on a range of flexible creative opportunities as suits, over a two-year period (24-26), with a total fee of £5,500 available each year (£11k total) per Associate Artist including expenses. This programme will then open again for a new cohort of artists in 26/27.

These new roles are a chance for Awen to work alongside and learn from diverse creatives aligned to our aim of making lives better. We are committed to accessible work and developing accessible buildings.

There will be opportunities to work on workshops, projects and live indoor and outdoor events with our Creative Wellbeing team, to support the teaching and productions for our Bridgend Youth Theatre and Lansiad performing arts groups, enhance community opportunities within our libraries outreach, create artistic trails and events throughout Bryngarw House and Country Park, and performances and exhibitions within our live music and theatre venues.

Opportunities will be flexible and fit in around your existing commitments. We welcome and encourage artists of all disciplines to apply. If you wish to be considered please send your CV and cover letter or a short video application if preferred by 1st April to Nicola Edwards, Creative Wellbeing Manager, Awen Cultural Trust: nicola.edwards@awen-wales.com.

Funded with thanks to Arts Council of Wales and the Welsh Government.
