Awen’s Board is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the registered charity, and collectively offer a range of skills, experience and community knowledge that enable them to provide leadership and good governance.

A fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Liz has spent over 25 years’ operating at a senior management level and has worked within the charity sector, including Tenovus Cancer Care, for the last 15 years.

Liz holds an executive role at Chwarae Teg, an organisation that Awen Cultural Trust has developed strong partnership working with, through its Agile Nation 2 and Step to Non-Exec development programmes.

Speaking about her appointment, Liz added:

“Born and brought up in Port Talbot, I spent many an afternoon at Bryngarw Country Park whilst raising my children. I registered my interest in becoming a Trustee after hearing all good things about Awen since its set up. I am a great believe in bringing the community together and believe that my broad range of skills can help move Awen forward. I look forward to joining the Board.”
