At Awen, we are committed to operating in a responsible and sustainable way. We have joined a growing community of forward-thinking organisations who are helping Wales transition to a low carbon future by signing the Green Growth Pledge. By January 2024 we will:

• Increase the proportion of suppliers that are based in South Wales;
• Review and adapt property inventory to prioritise renewable energy, energy efficiency, and water efficiency;
• Reduce waste sent to landfill by setting targets and training staff on importance of the waste hierarchy and setting targets;
• Work with the local community to provide opportunities for groups to learn new skills;
• Create a plan to start measuring carbon emissions (e.g. from energy use, waste produced, transport); and
• Publish environmental policies and action plan summary on our website.
