Screening of 6 Nations Rugby – Wales v England at The Grand Pavilion  

Back by popular demand, this year we will be screening the Wales v England rugby game. Showing on one of the biggest screens in Porthcawl, the event will include a brilliant atmosphere, bar and free half-time food.  

To secure a seat, you are given the option to pay a non-refundable charge of £2.00. Your seat will only be held until 30 minutes before kick-off. You will not be entitled to a refund.  

Saturday 23rd February at 2:45. Kick-off is at 4:45pm and tickets for a seat can be purchased on the Grand Pavilion website or via the box office.  

Champions of Rock – The Supreme Queen Concert Show at Maesteg Town Hall  

Join us as we immerse ourselves in the UK’s best Queen concert show,  played absolutely live in a two-hour rock spectacle! 

As we celebrate one of the biggest bands to have ever graced the stage, we will dance, sing, and reminisce whilst Champions of Rock recreates the fun and magic we remember so well. The show will take you on a journey through the decades, playing all 25 number one hits and fan favourites. Some classics that are certain to get the audience moving are Crazy Little Thing Called Love, I Want to Break Free, Somebody to Love, we Are The Champions, We Will Rock You and of course Bohemian Rhapsody.

Daytime & Evening Cinema: A Star is Born at Maesteg Town Hall  

Age Rating – 15 

A remake of the 1937 film, A Star Is Born is a 2018 American Musical Romantic Drama starting Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga as its main characters. The film follows a hard-drinking musician (Cooper) who discovers and falls in love with a young singer.  

Chosen by the American Film Institude as one of the Top 10 films of 2018, this title has received numerous accolades including five nominations at the Golden Globe Awards including Best Motion Picture and winning Best Original Song for Gaga’s “Shallow”.  

The daytime showing of this film is on Wednesday 27th February at 11am. Meanwhile, the evening showing of this title is on Thursday 28th February at 8pm. Tickets for both showings can be purchased online at www.maestegtownhall.co.uk 

Roy G Hemmings’ Sound of Philadelphia & Mowtown at Maesteg Town Hall  

The Original Drifters member Roy G Hemming’s is joining us this March for an action-packed show, bringing together three of America’s iconic labels; Mowtown, the Sound of Philadelphia and Stax Atlantic.  

Escape the little ones this half-term for some top music including The Three Degrees, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Stevie Wonder, Billy Paul, Four Tops, Temptations, Marvin Gaye, O’jays  to name a few.

Barbara Dickson at The Grand Pavilion  

Stopping by on her tour, multi-million selling recording artist Barbara Dickson and her accomplished band will perform an evening of her hit singles. Described as Scotland’s best-selling female singer in terms of the number of hit chart singles and albums she has achieved in the UK since 1976, we’re very much looking forward to welcoming her!

Côr Meibion Maesteg a’r Cylch at Maesteg Town Hall  

Côr Meibion Maesteg a’r Cylch will be presenting their Annual Concert ar Maesteg this year, alongside singer and television personality Wynne Evans.
