Public Toilets Reopen at Maesteg Bus Station

Maesteg Town Council have reopened the public toilets at Maesteg Bus Station after a five-month closure, by working in partnership with Awen Cultural Trust and Bridgend County Borough Council.

They were officially reopened this week, and will continue to be open from Mondays to Saturdays, with the exception of bank holidays, between approximately 8.30am and 5.30pm.

Mayor of Maesteg, Councillor Lynne Beedle, said:

“Access to public conveniences is important for all residents, people who visit Maesteg and local businesses, but they can be essential for those who have health issues and young families who need changing facilities. Maesteg Town Council is therefore delighted that we have been able to find a solution to reopen the toilets for the whole community.”

Richard Bellinger, Director of Operations at Awen, the registered charity which manages Maesteg Town Hall, where the toilets are located added:

“Partnership working is key to achieving Awen’s purpose of ‘making people’s lives better’ and so we are pleased that we could support Maesteg Town Council in reopening the Bus Station toilets. We will manage them until Maesteg Town Hall is closed for redevelopment later this year, and when the Hall reopens, locals can expect fully accessible public toilets within the building.”
