How a collaboration with broadcaster Sean Holley and Aspire 2Be led to a series of short films at The Met.

Earlier this year, Awen worked in partnership with renowned sports broadcaster Sean Holley and the team at award-winning learning technology company Aspire 2Be to create a series of short films with the close-knit community of Abertillery.
The iBroadcast participants received training in all aspects of the broadcasting process from researching, interviewing and presenting to lighting, sound and editing. They used a range of technology including AI, Green Screen and animation.
The purpose of the project, which was funded by UK Government in partnership with Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council, aimed to develop the participants’ self-confidence, communication, oracy, digital competency and leadership skills.
It also allowed the participants to explore the heritage of The Met, its heritage, the wider community of Abertillery, and the role arts and culture plays in developing connections and a sense of pride in the places we live.
