Generous support helps B-Leaf trainees

Thanks to a very generous donation from Codi Group, we have purchased an electric grass trimmer, electric blower, backpack harness and batteries to help our B-Leaf trainees carry out their grounds maintenance work.

As the new equipment is lightweight and easier to handle, this will help remove some of the physical barriers that may have prevented trainees from participating fully in active outdoor work.

Codi Group’s donation will therefore have an impact far beyond the equipment itself. It will give more trainees the opportunity to develop their skills, build confidence and undertake tasks with greater independence.

The move to electric equipment also supports a more environmentally responsible approach to this work. The trimmer and blower produce no direct emissions while in use, reducing their environmental impact and helping us to protect the biodiversity and natural surroundings of Bryngarw Country Park.

We purchased the equipment from Jenkins Garden Machinery, who generously provided an additional battery pack at no extra cost. This thoughtful contribution will allow trainees to spend longer developing their skills and completing outdoor tasks.

Partnerships and donations such as these enable us to provide meaningful opportunities, remove barriers to participation and support people to become more confident and independent.
