Our Partnership with Menter Bro Ogwr

How our collaboration is supporting Welsh Government’s target of a million Welsh speakers by 2050.

Rhannu ar

We are proud of our partnership with Menter Bro Ogwr, who are based at Maesteg Town Hall. We have a joint ambition to strengthen opportunities for local communities to engage with and celebrate their linguistic and cultural heritage.

Over the past year, Menter Bro Ogwr has delivered:

  • Weekly Bore Coffi events at Maesteg, Pyle and Pencoed Libraries

  • St David’s Day, Easter and Hwyl yr Haf sessions across Awen Libraries

  • Y Cwis Mawr at Maesteg, Pyle and Pencoed Libraries

  • Camau’n Hyderus Course for 24 families

  • Regular features in Yr Hogwr newsletter

  • PR support

We will continue to work closely together to integrate Welsh language opportunities into our venues and programmes, so we can inspire even more people to connect with the Welsh language and encourage its use in everyday life.
