Launch of new ‘Metamorphosis’ project

Call-out for females interested in joining.

Rhannu ar

In celebration of yesterday's International Women's Day we are pleased to launch a multi-venue project celebrating female voices, exploring shared experiences through creative expression led by some of Wales's most talented and respected female artists.

Supported by The National Lottery Community Fund, 'Metamorphosis' will bring diverse groups of women together across six locations for six sessions to journey through commonalities and differences of womanhood, with final creative outputs shared through a free touring exhibit this spring.

Artists leading the project include craftavist/writer Naseem Syed with dancer/choreographer Krystal Lowe in Abertillery and Newport, director/actor Angharad Lee with Indian classical musician Amruta Garud in Pontypridd and Cardiff, and folk/pop musician Angharad Jenkins with storyteller/actor Tamar Williams in Maesteg and Swansea.

If you are interested in joining this free project in one of the locations please contact Claire Cressey, Head of Theatres & Creative Wellbeing on claire.cressey@awen-wales.com.
