Supporting Wales Climate Week 2025

We want to see a healthy environment where future generations will benefit from a cleaner, more resilient and better understood planet.

To mark the Wales Climate Week (3 - 7 November), we are publishing our 2023-24 Carbon Emissions Report, outlining how Awen is delivering positive change by taking meaningful action to combat the climate crisis.

This year's Wales Climate Week theme focuses on creating a practical plan for reducing carbon emissions over the next five years and beyond.

As part of our 2025-30 strategy, we’ve committed to pursuing a decarbonisation agenda, including:

  • Increasing our self-generated renewable energy to 20% of our annual consumption.

  • Reducing our fossil fuel reliance by 30% compared with 2023.

  • Replacing all of our vehicles with electric models.

  • Retaining our Green Dragon Level 2 accreditation.

  • Maintaining Bryngarw Country Park as an exemplar site for natural heritage.
